The 5th International Polar Year (IPY‑5), set for 2032–33, represents a landmark global research initiative uniting scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, educators, and policymakers to confront rapidly accelerating changes in the polar regions.
CATCH is actively embedded in this effort:
CATCH together with BEPSII, ASPeCt, PACES and QuIESCENT successfully co-organized and held the a first planning workshop on planning the upcoming International Polar Year (IPY) 2032/33 with the topic of chemical, biogeochemical, and physical drivers of the polar atmosphere and climate at Aussois, France (17-22 November 2024) with almost 100 participants (44 on-site, ~55 online).
